I'm not sure as to who made this tag since there are so many sites and videos that credit it. So kudos to whoever made it.
1. Do you get sick while reading in the car?
Absolutely not. I frequently read in the car especially during long drives. In fact, my new year resolution for 2019 was to not read while travelling, since it's not good for your eyesight and also because there is a world outside the car window that I need to observe (or so my dad tells me). Well, I broke that resolution.
2. Which author’s writing style is completely unique to you and why?
I think Nicola Yoon has a very distinctive writing style. I love it when she switches point of views and gives us different voices. In The Sun Is Also A Star, I was really impressed by the way in which she managed to incorporate the perspectives of everyone in the scene, even the random passersby. The recurring theme of the universe and fate is also one of the things I find intriguing in her books.
3. Harry Potter Series or the Twilight Saga? Give 3 points to defend your answer.
Harry Potter to the death. And it's not just when you're comparing it with Twilight. For me Harry Potter is the fantasy book. No other world will ever even come close to the Wizarding World in my head. I think that the Harry Potter Series has a really well built Universe and I personally feel for all the characters in it. Another reason as to why I love the series, is the fandom. Harry Potter is infinite. It will live forever through the people who love it. Twilight, on the other hand - I've only read the first book and I do want to read the whole series but it's primarily a romance and I don't quite feel a connection with it yet.
4. Do you carry a book bag? If so, what is it in (besides books…)?
Not really, but I would love to carry a book bag. If I did have one, it would have my tablet computer ( since I get a lot of my books online), character book marks and a notebook to write down my thoughts on the book I'm reading.
5. Do you smell your books?
Sometimes I do. If I get fresh books and notebooks I might spend some time just sensing and fingering it. But my mother won't allow me to smell old books. Can't afford to catch a cold, can we?
6. Books with or without little illustrations?
Mostly without. I don't mind illustrations for the aesthetic, or illustrations of places but I definitely don't want pictures of characters.
7. What book did you love while reading but discovered later it wasn’t quality writing? (Ex. I read Twilight before I read HP and thought the writing was amazing but read HP and now think Twilight is a little bit of a joke.)
Writing's hard as hell and I appreciate everyone who does it or even tries. I didn't especially like this book but I'm pretty okay with the series as a whole - The Elite from the selection series. The plot didn't really feel that unique, and the repetitive love triangle got on my nerves. It didn't help that I didn't care about any of the characters in the first arc.
8. Do you have any funny stories involving books from your childhood? Please share!
I don't exactly have any funny stories but my reading journey has had a pretty regular cycle. When I was young, I used to read a book, fall absolutely in love with it and refuse to read anything else. My parents tried to persuade me to try reading something else instead of rereading the same thing but I was stubborn. When they finally succeed in making me read the new book, I would become obsessed with that book and condemn everything else. This was how I progressed : from Thea Stilton in class four to Famous Five to Agatha Christie in class six to Wings of Fire in class eight to Harry Potter and finally now I am in a comfortable place where I read anything and everything. ( Especially young adult)
9. What is the thinnest book on your shelf?
In my immediate bookshelf, it would probably be some self help book that I need to get to.
10. What is the thickest book on your shelf?
Harry Potter : Page to Screen. At one point it was my most coveted possession.
11. Do you write as well as read? Do you see yourself in the future as being an author?
I do write as well as read and I can definitely see a future where I become an author.
12. When did you get into reading?
I got into reading in third grade.
13. What is your favorite classic book?
My favorite classic would have to be Little Women by Louisa May Alcott.
14. In school is your best subject Language Arts/English?
Not really.
15. If you were given a book as a present that you had read before and hated…what would you do?
I guess I'd keep it for the sentiment. Any book on a shelf graces it.
16. What is a lesser known series that you know of that is similar to Harry Potter or the Hunger Games?
Wings of fire by Tui.T Sutherland. It's a middle grade fantasy series but it has some really well written characters.
17. What is a bad habit you always do (besides rambling) while blogging?
Well, I've just started blogging, so I'm not really sure. But I do over think a lot.
18. What is your favorite word?
Queen
19. Are you a nerd, dork, or dweeb? Or all of the above?
Nerd
20. Vampires or Fairies? Why?
Fairies. I've always loved Tinkerbell.
21. Shapeshifters or Angels? Why?
I want to say Angels because in my head Zayn is one. ( Only my friend will get this joke )
22. Spirits or Werewolves? Why?
Werewolves because of Remus Lupin
23. Zombies or Vampires?
Vampires, because 1. Zombies freak me out ( unless they're on disney channel) and 2. I'm giving Edward a shot.
24. Love Triangle or Forbidden Love
Forbidden love.
25. AND FINALLY: Full on romance books or action-packed with a few love scenes mixed in?
I want to say Full on romance, but I'm mostly okay with anything contemporary.
